Why Is The Minimum Order Quantity So High?

There is a lot of new customers don't understand why is the MOQ is so high in bags industry. Let's explain it for you.

1. We need to purchase all materials before making bags. Normally a bag has many different kinds of materials, such as fabrics, zippers, zipper pullers, webbing, bindings etc. If the amount of material is too small, suppliers are unhappy to find these materials in small batch. And we need to buy materials from various suppliers. There is a lot extra work to match color for all materials. It takes extra time and energy for us to prepare the materials.

2. After preparing the material, cutting fabric is the next step. Cutting refers to the process of cutting neat material to the desired size and shape with a cutting bed. We need to cutting fabrics via molds one by one.

3.The bag needs to be customized, we do not have a mold, so we need to make a new mold. The mold is made of iron. Different bags require different molds. How many pieces fabric does the bag has, how many cutting molds has for this bag. If there is no back orders for this bag, then molds become one time use mold. The average cost for each bag will increase.

4. For simple bags, we accept lower MOQ than normal, such as 200 pcs, 300pcs. But it would be increase production difficulty during producing. Workers need spend time to set up sewing machine for different sewing processing. Test machine is needed which may waist for first several cutting pieces. If the MOQ is low, when workers just familiar with this sewing, then this piece sewing finished. They need to set up again for next step stitching. They need to do this again and again until the bag is finished.

5. The last thing is packaging. We can’t customize your packaging if your quantity is small. Otherwise, the cost will be much higher than normal which is not cost-effective. Because the quantity is small, we can only buy inventory carton to pack them. Sometimes we can’t find the most suitable box and resulting in wasting volume of packaging, increasing shipping cost.
