Many new customers are not familiar with the shipping methods. Sometimes they are confused about the air shipping and ocean shipping. In order to make customers better understand them, we have listed several commonly used shipping methods.
1. Ocean Shipping
The freight of ocean shipping is cheap, many customers will choose ocean shipping, but the speed is slower, it takes about 35-45 days.
The seller delivers the goods to the forwarder, the forwarder needs to load the goods into containers and load the containers onto the ship. The number of ships per week is limited. Taking the United States as an example, customs generally closes on Saturdays and sails on Wednesdays. If the goods are not loaded before Saturday, we need to wait another week.
The ship will be sailing for about 20 days. After the ship arrive at the destination port, the goods must wait to be unloaded. It will take about 7 days. After that, the buyer needs to go to the port for customs clearance and pay for customs duties, then pick up the goods by himself.
2. Ocean Shipping + Express Delivery
When the goods arrive at the destination port, the forwarder is responsible for customs clearance and pay for customs duties. Then goods will be delivered by UPS, Fedex or other commercial express companies for terminal delivery. We could offer DDP Shipping Service for some countries, such as United States, Canada, European etc.
3. Railway Transportation
Railway transportation is usually used in European countries. When goods arrive at the destination, they are usually delivered by DPD or GLS, more by express delivery and less by truck delivery due to country border issue. Railway transportation is cheap, but it takes about 45-55 days.
4. Air Shipping
Air shipping refers to the use of plane as a means of transport for the shipping. Air shipping cost more, But it's faster. It will take about 7-15 days.
The consignor delivers the goods to the warehouse or the forwarder, then forwarder deliver the goods to the destination airport by air. After the goods arrive at the destination airport, the logistics service is over, the recipient needs to go to the airport for customs clearance and pay for customs duties, then pick up the goods himself.
5. Air shipping + Express Delivery
After the goods arrive at the destination airport, the forwarder is responsible for customs clearance and pay for customs duties, then the goods will be delivered by UPS or Fedex. The customer only needs to wait for the goods arrive. We could offer DDP Shipping Service as well.
6. Express Delivery and Truck Delivery
After goods arrive at the destination by ocean shipping or air shipping, there are two ways to deliver them. Express delivery and truck delivery.
Take the United States as an example for truck delivery. When goods arrive in the United States, Goods are collected uniformly and then handed over to trucks for delivery, and all goods arrive at the same time. By truck delivery, the shipping cost is more cheaper. And it's faster than express delivery. Also cartons are more complete and not easy to deformation. But the truck delivery didn't have a tracking number. Buyers cannot check logistics.
